Just checked out the duno results for the TRD intake. Can anyone explain why the HP peaks at 172 and torque peaks at 234? I thought the 4.0 V6 is rated at 236HP and 266 Torque. What am I missing here?

closing flaps are not needed whatsoever...if you look in the picture the 3" piping heading towards the grill turns twice and actually pointing downward. if if water manages to go up the piping there is mesh between the pipe and the 3" fitting on the TRD CAI which will do 1 of 2 things...stop the water from entering the intake box...even if it does manage to get past the mesh it will fall to the bottom of the box...

One is at the rear wheels, and the other is at the crank. FWIW, I have never seen a 4.0 duno under about 195 hp at the wheels.

I havent head much great about the volant. The idea is cool but I know I read one story where a guy bought it and it made his truck run like crap so he had the guy who installed it swap it for an afe and it made a huge difference.

Easy. Hp at the tires is going to be reflected less, as there is hp loss from the tranny, differential, drive shaft, etc. Generally, a Rear wheel hp reading will be around 20% less, depending on vehicles. Dodge has horribly in efficient drive trains, as dose Ford, and I have seen 35% drive train loss on those vehicles.

btw guys throttle body spacers have an effect on any engine. It has to do with air waves inside the engine. By changing the distance between the intake ports and the throttle body you change the frequency(read rpm) at which the engine resonates( crams extra air into the cylinders). By raising the frequency(again rpm) the horsepower peaks at, the engine has more going for it at the right engine speed. And no i didn't pull this out of my ass lol

Being as modern intake tracts are engineered for optimum efficiency, A TB spacer isnt going to do anything. I have dynoed a couple and have gotten No gain what so ever. Im not unique, as many others have as well with the same result. TB spacers have an affect on a carbed motro, but not so much on a modern FI engine.

We don’t recommend AirRaid’s throttle body spacer, or any other brand of throttle body spacer, for the Toyota Tundra (or any other modern fuel injected vehicle).

Bottom Line: We do not endorse the use of a throttle body spacer on any modern fuel injected engine. Save your money and put it towards something else.
