Popping when slowing down

I have a popping noise while I am slowing down. It is coming from front driver side. It will pop only once. I have noticed it on turns too. The steering is fine while I am slowing down and turning. As well as the other times. My wife had a dodge mini-van that did the same thing and it turned out to be the wheel bearing. That was a costly fix. New tire, rim, etc. I am just wanting to stop anymore damage before it happens. Please help.

 

Check to make sure all your bolts are tight on the control arms and shock. I had a popping sound and my lower control arm wuzz a little loose. I tightened it up no more pops. You will have to pull the skid plate to check the bolts. Make sure to turn the nut not the bolt so you don't mess up your alinement.

 

x2. I had a popping sound after I installed new LCA bushings and it was because the LCA bolts weren't tight enough. While you're checking things, jack up the front end and see if there is any play in the wheel bearings or tie rods. Basically try to physically move the wheel itself without moving the whole truck to see if there is any play in the wheel bearings or tie rods.

 

I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow. I have a $50.00 deductible. I really hope that they find it. I have read that this popping noise is a normal thing for a tacoma. I am NOT buying that.
