They probably had gloves on, but it is definitely worth a try.

    That sucks.

My buddy had his grille, headlights, and front bumper stolen off his 98 Tacoma. At least yours is driveable still.

I was thinking the same thing about prints, there was like finger dragging marks on the back near the bumper, and i was looking at the plate yesterday and you could see part of a foot print and it was all greasy (i fluid film my truck to death) im gunna have my uncle look into dusting it hes a cop.

Pretty considerate of them to leave you your license plate tho. Almost arrogant.
Maybe they studied a TW sticky on how to quickly remove the rear bumper.
Sorry, that really sucks, but its time for a plate bumper!
Then weld a couple balls at the end of the bolts.

a few years ago I was off hiking and a small army ( I assume) tried to strip my truck... I had a long ass hike to get cell signal... any how they took front & rear bumper, flares, side steps, bat, grill , and tools from inside, oh and they tried to take the tires..lol.. plus they left a huge as dent in the bed like they hit or something... o and they cut the alarm... it suck hope your insurance takes care of you...

Well dude it's great that you have connections with the cops!
I've never had anything stolen, but back in HS some bitchy girl didn't like my parking and threw her coffee onto the side of my '85 4runner... didn't really do much as the paint job sucked anyways!

Prints taken from outside a vehicle are worthless in court. You can not convict anyone based on those.

So people lay under vehicles all the time piddling with shit enough for that not to be anything out of the ordinary up there in that well lit unpatrolled parking lot? Nobody passing by or anybody that was not thinking there was anything wrong with that. There's your sad lame bullshit right there. Truck probably wasn't even backed in and they were just right there where people were driving by too. Sucks.

As a police officer, it took me 0.1 seconds to suspect insurance fraud to pay for an offroad bumper. I'd get your police report and avoid unnecessary police contact. As was stated prints are worthless outside the truck.
