I would say this month or next since the tundra and highlander dropped a month or two ago, I figure they will all follow suit, but don't expect any change or they would have done it already like the tundra and highlander

They should be in soon, but there is no change to the 2014 Tacomas. Same as 2013's that are currently on lots.

I spoke on the phone with Toyota customer service yesterday and the nice lady I talked to did inform me that there will be a complete redesign of the Tacoma this year, 2014 model. I specifically asked her if that meant all new engines too, and she confirmed that yes indeed new engines were coming too. I asked about a hybrid engine and she would not give me those details. She said that she was not sure if they were going to prerelease it at an auto show, but that when the new 2014 model comes out in Sept Oct of 2013 it will be all new.

This post is 13 days late. April Fools Day is on April 1.

However, just on the off chance that there is some reality in this post, I would sure like to see some details. But, given that Toyota wants to sell all those 2013 Tacomas they built, they may be playing their cards VERY close to their chest.

    We'll see......:)

Trust me, it's the real deal. I have better things to do with my time. I have been waiting for two years for a complete redesign and thought I would share.

    Who did you talk to?
    What is their phone number?
    What is their name?
What office are they out of?

    It's bullshit.
Nobody at Toyota is authorized to release ANY information on upcoming models prior to the official press release. Whoever you talked to (if you talked to anyone) was not telling you the truth.

    Yup.

The Tundra has been made public.
Test mule spy shots were out a few months before that.

It's way too late in the year for us to have not even seen any test mule spy shots of a new Tacoma.

Yeah, I talked to her too, very nice lady.
She told me after 2013, Toyota is NOT going to make Tacoma and will make Camry with truck bed and it will be called Cammino. 500HP V8 motor, 8-speed, 4x4 and 54mpg.

Even if they did release a complete redesign, I personally wouldn't buy until 2nd year or beyond. I have no interest in being a beta tester. The great thing about the 2nd gens is we now have 9 years of used parts from millions of trucks out there ... great news for those who want to keep their trucks for 20 years. IMO that's one thing that makes Toyotas so great ... being slow to redesign plus using the same components across multiple designs makes for excellent used part markets over the long term. Now if the frames would just hold up.

^This, I would not expect any changes til at least 2015.

You will 100% not see any changes for the 2014 tacoma! It was a mid model change in 2012 with no new of a redisgn yet.

I see Camry now has a 268 HP engine. Where is ours? The proof of a redesign is pics and I do not see any.

I work at a Toyota dealer and there will be no changes to the Tacoma in 2014. Tundra, Highlander, 4Runner, and Corolla redo for 2014 is all that I see.
