Not trying to be rude at all, I think they are cool , but whats the point of them? Is it for added storage once you fill the bed with stuff?

Again I'm asking just for clarity and understanding . . . . While I dont think I need them at all, I kind of want them lol

    ^^ That is wrong.

    No one listen to this.

The Static load is much less than the kinetic load.

For example, a spare tire mounted on those, if the spare tire were in motion, this would the kinetic. When that tires in motion, it would be bouncing up and down on trails or something. The load due to that bounce is much more than the load if the truck were parked (i.e. Static) and the tire was not bouncing.

I've been thinking about a set of these. I like the "OEM" look and ease of adjustability compared to my inno rack system. I'd be a little concerned with the ease of "removal" by a thief... What do you use to keep them secure if anything?
Not sure if I missed it but what is the load capacity? I have a Thule ski box and usually carry 3-4 pairs of skis up to 6 sometimes.

Pretty cool. I had made something pretty similar to that for my skis and mountain bikes.

Very cool! I was waiting for something like this since Toyota took the OEM ones off the market you could get years ago. I have one question: what mounting options as far as Yakima attachments do these allow?

I have the Thule system. I took their mount off and just used my own hardware like the OP did. You can put pretty much anything on them.

In terms of theft prevention, I don't do anything. I think a thief would look for an easier score. While these aren't difficult to remove, there are easier targets.

In terms of strength, they would easily be able to handle your Thule box.

    Thanks!

Now that I think of it... You would need to be able to turn the whole bar to remove everything together, which you wouldn't be able to do with a box on. The only other way would be to remove the bolts which is the only thing keeping someone from removing my inno rack... I'm sure I could find a way to run a cable and a lock just to "keep the honest people honest"... Probably be hitting you up this fall for a set. So ill have to sell the inno rack now!

    Chrome don't get you home
Here's the best set up for these, If you surf short boards, and have a shell, topper, camper

Your board stays above your bed and you can haul your coolers and other beach stuff below, most of us already do this but we all made a plywood bench for it.

    This is slick!

    Cheers to you

You would get a lot more interest in these if this was in buy/sell/trade. I can see why you wouldn't want that if you are just doing it on the side though.

That rack looks good. Did you mean to misspell "lethal" as "leathal" on your bedside decal?
