They use regular oil. Non synthetic.

Can you pay extra for synthetic?

Just had my 2012 oil changed at 10000 miles under Toyota care and they used 5w-30 synthetic without me asking. Don't assume the worst from every dealer.

Nope. And that's one reason why I'm doing it myself. Not only do I not want a potentially bone-headed kid f#cking around with my truck, I also enjoy doing the work myself. The more you do on your own vehicle, the more you know and the better off you are.

Welcome to TW. There are a lot of great, smart folks on here with a wealth of info.

    same shit as everyone else
4 filters are $15 at my local Toyota. Walmart has 5 liter jugs of Pennzoil platinum for $25 and if you buy three you get one free. Done for a year. The dealer will just let the oil run all over your belts every time any way. They don't care.

And they throw in a free crush washer with each filter.

just did my first oil change last week and they drop oil all over the engine, there was so much oil everywhere... kids doing oil change at the dealer all stone up all day that's the service you get from them.
