Lift kit advice

Yep, stock tires for now. But I have 265/75/16 duratracs just waiting for wheels to come in. Truck is brand new, so I don't want to cut anything yet to fit 285s. I have read some people are running 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 without a lift.

 

I haven't been able to decide on which route
I'm going to take yet. I kit want the best ride, be able to run 285/75/17. Way to many options and decisions lol

Yeah, I know what you mean tho. I've been going through old threads every night for a month deciding if I should settle for 265s, or just get the 285s and hope I don't have to cut much. Some people claim they run 285s without any cutting, some people have done the CMC, and trimming, and STILL RUB!
I have over 2.5" of lift, after market UCAs and over 2.8* of caster, so by other peoples experiences, I should be able to fit 285s with no CMC, but i'm not willing to take the chance on a brand new truck

 

Ya that's what I meant lol. I have a guy that's trying to sell me a 6 inch rough country lift that he says was a prototype idk what that means he is only asking 500 for the whole set up. What do y'all think?

 

I would pass and just spend a lil extra on a new kit w a warranty

 

Ya that's kinda what I was thinking. After reading all this stuff on here I think I just wanna go with a 3 inch kit. Seems much more practical. Thanks guys

 

....after talking to the guy it's some prototype that they have him that was made for a jeep or some crap. He says its for a 4x4 but it has lift spindles. I don't get it. Anyways I passed. I'm just gonna go with one of the setups you guys mentions. Time to order some wheels and tires

 

I have a fox mid travel kit on my truck at just over 2.5 inches, with TC UCAs.
I would go for a Fox or ICON mid travel kit and crank it up to 3" if you want height and clearance, and then trim for 33" tires. Just keep an eye on the CV boots.
The RCD 4" lift is also nice if you really want to be higher with stock-ish CV angles.

I have the Exact same rig only the 2011 model, I was wanting to get an 3' OME kit on it and was wandering what it would look like without new wheels and tires...
doesn't look too bad... I'm think about getting HANKOOK MTs in 265/75/R16 or R17 or GOODYEAR MTR with Kevlar 275/70/R17 (any rubbing issues with my selected set up?) on METHOD NV wheels... it's just coming up with 4K to do it all at once... or I could lift it now and wait to get the wheels and tires what do you guys think?

Glad it helped. I actually have wheels and tires on the way. Gonna be running 265/75/16 on countersteers. Some people say they fit fine without a lift, but you might have to lose the front flap. If you want to run the 275/70/17 then you will probably have to lift first cause it might rub on stock suspension, but i'm not too sure since I haven't really researched that size tire.
But I wish they'd make 275s for 16" wheels!
