Anyone experience this?

For two days my A/C fan switch has been malfunctioning. It will only turn the fan on when I turn it to high. Any other setting and no fan comes on. One time it did this, I rapped my knuckle against it and it began working fine. Today I tried that and it didnt work but after 3 minutes on high I turned it back to a lower setting and it worked again. I am hoping I dont need a new switch but it looks like I may and I bet its expensive.

 

Odd, same thing used to happen to my dads climate control on his 2004 GMC Sierra.

Is everything common? I would never have guessed this was a common thing that had a thread. I always expect that if a problem is common to the Taco it would show up before 4 years. Oh well at least I know what to do. TW members rock!
