Some random questions

Soo like any other taco owner who's still in school, most my class time is spent looking up random parts and accessories. In doing so I've come up with a few simple questions I can't seem to find in forums or on parts websites.

So I've been looking at people making aftermarket steel bumpers for 2012/13 tacos, and I was curious... I have the stock fog lights that come on a TRD offroad, and my question is... Does the housing come off my stock bumper and bolt right into the new bumper, so I don't lose my fog lights and the switch on my dash or do I lose that wiring and housing all together?

Also with the aftermarket steel bumpers, does that eliminate all the rubbing with long travel/mid travel suspensions with large tires? Or do you only have to do can mount chop? I know those suspensions move the tires backward so I was curious if you'll still rub on the backside?

okay so... like everyone else... running a 285/75/16, or 295/75/16.... does that eliminate trimming

seeing cab mount chops can usually be avoided by backspacing and wider UCS

 

So there would be no trimming with an after market steel bumper... thanks

not necessarily.. you can still rub the cab mount at full stuff, especially while turning. i have 285/70/17's and needed the cab mount chop.. after the chop.. alot of my rubbing was fixed, but i still rub at full stuff.. mostly the rear of the front fender. just need to do some more trimming.

Thts exactly what I asked haha seeing the after market bumper would eliminate the front bumper running, all you'd need was a cab mount chop and it'd be clear.

And maybe a little trimming on the rear part of the front wheel well

Well seeing the trimming is so tire/rim/suspension based... One person may have none and one have a shit ton of trimming of chopping because it's a matter of inches that cause rubbing, so every component is taken into factor

 

Exactly. When looking for wheels... 4.5" back spacing is ideal. Just fyi.
