deciding whether to put 285/75/16s or 265's. I have the Toytec/Bilstein lift set up, and the TRD TX Pro wheels. Anyone have this set up that can speak to the amount of rubbing / trimming needed to make it work

They will rub. It depends on the type of wheeling you do. If you are on the street, they will be fine with loosing your front mud flaps.

not sure of specs on on t/x wheels, but with mine, im danger close to rubbing 265s on the spindle. I would think wheel spacers would be necessary to run 285's but then that would probly put you into the cab mount among other things.

    someone better will help soon

I think they have 4.5 back spacing

I ended up going with the Toyo AT 2 265's> I tow a utility trailer for work and do a lot of backing it into tight spaces so the wheels are full locked quite often. Now that I am looking, it almost looks like I have the room to stuff them in there. A bit of buyers remorse i guess haha. I have a 30 day test drive though

I have that exact setup and have been down quite a few trails in Moab and Durango/Silverton/Ouray and have never rubbed.

    I average around 16-17 mpg.

Towing is a completely different story, it drops close to 10-12 mpg with a small trailer.

    I drive like grandpa too.

I should add that I had to buy LR UCA's too. Without them you will not have the correct caster and it will rub. I don't care what Toytec will tell you about not needing UCA's with their lift, you absolutely do. I was told that with both the Taco and FJ, and they both ended up needing them.

Is rubbing ever an issue when the wheels are fully locked backing the trailer up?

No, I have 68k miles with this setup and have towed a trailer weighing 5,000lbs. It has never rubbed, not even once.

If I were to do it over again, I would probably go with an Icon setup though.
