So about a month ago I had to have some wiring re-done due to "cut" wires. The wires made my airbag light abs light and some other lights come on my dash. I was reading today and saw that there were recalls for the wiring because the steering column causes friction. Does anyone else think that that is the reason my wires were "cut". I had to pay $360 out of pocket to repair the wires and the whole situation still has me pissed

The answer is yes, maybe it could have caused it. Yes, maybe the dealer will fix it/reimburse your. But you have to ask them

I tried to plead with the dealership when my truck was in the shop for 21 days they tried to tell me that I cut the wires when that dealership is the only place that has ever done work on my vehicle.

That makes no sense then. Was it a clean cut like you took wire cutters to them? Also, have you modified anything that would have required you to pull apart the steering column or anything else in that area? How did they justify their explanation that YOU cut your own wires?

The only thing I've done on that truck was rotate my tires and that was after all that went down. I took my truck in for an inspection. They found a bad wheel bearing in driver front. So they replaced it and then that's when the wires got "cut" and the tech that was working in my vehicle got fire while working on my truck

    Follow this link: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchVehicles

Enter vehicle, year, model etc. and you will be able to see if your truck was included in any of the recalls. As to the dealership refunding your money, that's debatable.

    Good luck,

    Ray
