retracting tonneau covers

looking to get a retracting tonneau cover... i know what a shock as if the title didn't make one aware of what was about to be asked. any suggestions or consumer testimonies that i might find helpful. looking at a retrax or a jackrabbit.

 

ive been eyeing up the jackrabbit also.

Go to autoanything.com and read the reviews. Sounds like its a pretty good cover, and i keep getting emails about the cover..Its getting cheaper, and free shipping.

 

I have a roll-n-lock and i love it, except you lose the bed-rails but securing the bed was more important to me. although the other day i washed my truck and its about -10 C here and the locking mechanism froze so im gonna have to think about a solution for that but other then that i love it.

 

i have the pace edwards "full metal jackrabit" i got it initially so i could keep stuff locked up in the bed while i am at college (free up as much space in the small dorms). i've had it almost a year now, and love it...locks ever 12 enches for adjustability. the hardest part of installing it is alligning the rails on the side that the cover slides in, but once you do, the cover slides very smoothely. i'd reccomend spending the extra on the metal one...it's powdercoated, so it's very strong, and it won't fade like the other modle (i think it's vynil) my friend had that one, and after 2 years, it wasn't very black anymore, and parts were cracking.
but yeah, i have no bad things to say abotu mine.

alnmost forgot, i also have a pop-n-lock, to fully secure the contents in the bed...they are a good system togeather.

 

Do you still have access to the factory rails with the JackRabbit full metal?

 

PMd, but for anyone else wondering, it uses the rails, but you can unbolt the one from the back of the cab (it doesn't use that one) and rebolt it in a usable location. or even cut pieces out of the side rails so there is only rail where the cover needs to clamp. then you are free to rebolt that excess wherever you like
