I never owned a Toyota until 2012. Now I own 2 (2012 Tacoma, 2012 Venza). I love them both, but the lock/unlock beeping is getting old.

Both vehicles have a way to totally disable the beeping, but that's not what I want. I want a single beep on lock, and no beep on unlock.

If you could pick any variation what would you choose?

If there is enough interest from this poll, I will develop and post a mod to allow more options.

I was in a parking lot yesterday and heard 3 Toyota's beep within about 5 seconds as people got to their cars (including mine). Each had a different pitch. It was like a beautiful symphony.

I could live with a beep only on lock. That would be nice.

What bleeping beeping? The single beep on lock and twice on unlock is not excessive by any stretch. However, I wouldn't go so far as to say I "love" the beeping (your first poll option). It's just fine as is, which is the extent of my opinion. Of course, no option in the poll for "it's just fine."

I had the beeps turned off the day after I bought mine. What bugged me was that to unlock all the doors it was two presses of the button and therefore FOUR beeps. That's a little excessive. I also had them turn off my seat belt beep, that's the really annoying one...

Electrical tape over the small speaker is a cheap and easy way to quite the beep down. One piece makes its nice and quite, but you can still hear the beep faintly.

I open doors with key. I lock by pushing the lock button on the door. I do however have crank windows but nothing on my Taco beeps. Minimal electronics. My perfect truck. :D

Where is the speaker? I might do this if it gets a tad bit quieter but I can still hear it.

Mine beeped and honked when I got it. Had to get rid of the horn honking because that was obnoxious as hell but I like the beep.
