Had a factory moon roof in our last car. It worked flawlessly and never leaked (10 years, 95K miles, parked outside mostly.) And we almost never used it. Personal preference, I suppose. On that car it was standard equipment so we had no choice.

I've heard too many horror stories about retrofit units leaking and failing. I would not advise going that way. Plus it would provide a place for rust to start. If the factory does not provide it, I would just leave it at that.

I had a nice pop-up one that came with my 2002 DC Limited 4x4 TRD OR. Never leaked for the 8 years I had the truck. Totaled it 2 weeks ago in a crash when someone made a left turn in front of me. Shopping for a new 2010 DC 4x4 TRD now. Leaning towards the Gray color or the Silver.

I love sunroofs, but I carry a lot of crap on vacation, so I'd rather have a roof rack.

My mom has one in her Expedition. She only has it, because it came on the truck already, and she would never pay to have that on there, in the first place. I'm the only one who ever uses it, and I normally am afraid of what might come in there; always on the look out for birds, lol

I have always had sunroofs on other vehicles but eventually forget they are there. Never really use them because they are noisy when driving with them opened.

Anyone else have any experience with Inalfa sunroofs? I found a local shop that installs them. Thinking about getting a quote. If its reasonable, I might do it, a sunroof would be awesome!

Yeah I have an Inalfa sunroof in my 08 D/cab sport and it is awesome, no leaks, works perfectly. It was installed by the dealer for the first owner, so I would have no idea on price.

I recenly bought an '07 4D, it has the Webasto Hollandia 740 installed. I had no idea it was aftermarket, I figured is was factory option until I looked at the 2007 sales brochure....It was installed by the original dealership by a trim shop in MO (from the "We Owe" Toyota Service/Owners website), so it's a very clean install, the headliner matches perfect, no creases at the roof either. The sunglasses holder was cut to accomodate with a small plastic trim cover placed over the cut line.

If I can make any complait, there's some wind howl when closed (not sureif it closes to the "mm", but no water leaks), closing the sun shade reduces it greatly.
Otherwise very cool upgrade, well worth the cost. I called a local (DC/NOVA) installer to see what it cost, they quoted installed price of $1400. The shop did recommend going with the ASC model over the Hollandia, something about a better drain tube design.

FYI - The trim shop also mentioned all power moon roofs have "drain tubes" which need to be cleaned ever couple years to mitigate leaks....

LED light bar in the lower grill. Trailer plug relocate. Auxiliary reverse LED's wired in to be manual or auto on when in reverse.
this will be the 3rd full year and 30k with it and it has been trouble free, I don't worry b/c the paperwork gives me a lifetime warranty, so if it does anything crazy, I will just bitch and moan until they fix it....for free.:D

Good to hear, I tried calling earlier to get a quote, but they were closed. I just don't want to lose my sunglasses holder, I use that thing constantly!

LOL. Do you have a close up picture of the sunglasses holder, where they had to cut it. And if you could get a picture of the whole setup that would be sweet! I'm pretty sure I would be losing my sunglasses holder since I have an AC. Thanks.

That's a sunglass holder? I thought it was a garage door remote holder. I have a whole new appreciation for my truck now.

From what i understand is aftermarket sun/moon roof installs go bad because the truck cab is not designed for it so it causes aerodynamic and leak problems.

you know what i want: Complete powered roll down back window.

I got a quote for about 900 installed for a factory-like power sunroof. Really has me thinking. The only issue is there is only a three year warranty, but it is nationwide, and the guy has been installing them for about 30 years, and has had very few issues. I'm kinda figuring if it is going to have issues, chances are its going to be within 3 years, and if its longer, it would be worth it just to get it fixed. When is tax return time again? lol
