I never order something unless it says the item is in stock just because I don't like waiting.. So after ordering I received a notice saying he is really backed up and it will be a few days before it ships..

Then I got to reading on the website and it says the hurst knob isn't available due to the shift pattern, so I emailed him and asked if I could get a hurst knob that didn't show a shift pattern and he said I could exchange the 6 speed knob for the hurst T handle for no up charge or a hurst knob for an additional $50....

Man I hate waitng then really hate getting something different than I thought I was getting.. I know the description says something about the shifter shown is for the 5 speed but if the hurst shift knob cost $50 more you would think the 5 speed shifter would cost more than the 6 speed, not $45 less..

Thats really odd. My transaction was seamless. I ordered the kit, came with the white knob with proper markings for the shift pattern and it arrived in only a few days. Albeit my shift knob doesnt say Hurst, the stick does however. Maybe your paying 50$ for the Hurst name on the knob?

my knob doesnt have hurst on it... unless I want to pay $50 more.

5 speed shifter with hurst knob $170
6 speed shifter without hurst knob $215

Its no big deal, just not what I was expecting. as long as I can reduce the throw by 30% i'll be happy.

Question. My shifter has a fair amount of play, both in neutral, and in gear. would this shifter correct that play?

I'm not sure where that play comes in so I don't know...

In that case youll be happy.

In gear absolutely. Shifter is rock solid. In Neutral shifter will have some play but it will be stiffer and not as easy to just move around.

Does your shifty feel like it goes into 1st, 3rd and 5th all the way? It works fine but you don't get that "click" in those gears

Yea mine does the save. It also works fine but made me nervous at first too. Imho I think the stock leather boot is a bit tight especially since the shifter stick is curved. Just my thought

I wish I has made this switch a long time ago... The URD kit was MUCH better than stock but this one leaves the URD in the dust.
Granted - it is not quiet but what the hell - it's a truck not a Cadillac. ;)

This assembly gives me the versatility to adjust the trans shifter position - something no other setup can do without cutting & welding the stick.

Within a few months I plan on installing a crawlbox and using a triple-stick adapter to have all 4 shift sticks in the front location.

Did anyone notice that the 2 bolts that hold the inner boot on don't retighten all the way? Mine stays put but it's not the same as it was.

How to you like the T-handle? This shifter is my next addition, and I'm trying to decide what I want for a knob. I want something solid and heavy...I think I want a ball, but this interests me too.
