I am getting 19 average with 300 miles on it now. What is the expected increase and about what mileage. I heard that when the engine and all parts mesh the MPG goes up? Prerunner Double Cab V6 SR5 5sp Auto [IMG]

I personally never noticed an increase in mpg. I'm at 20k miles and with mixed city/highway driving average around 17-18 mpg.

I have not seen an increase. I have seen a slight decrease. I am at 12k now and the exhaust seems to be a little more throaty. I think I'm more aggressive on the gas pedal now to hear the hum of the exhaust. I get between 17.5 and 18.5 in traffice mostly and gettin on it a little from time to time. Got a keep it blown out right?

On my 2.7L the mileage started out around 20 MPG, now I can get 25 MPG (without my current mods) on the highway. I am at ~20,000 miles.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
I have a 06, V6, 6spd, I got 19mpg from day one with 10miles on it. The best I get is around 20, but have not had chance to run it in 6th at turnpike speeds for 50-200miles to check on the highway only mileager. When I do I will pass it on. I would bet maybe 23mpg at 70mph in warm weather. Synthetic oils are supposed to give 2mpg extra. Cannot verify that, however.

Have consistently got 21-23 mpg. V6/Auto/prerunner/50% Highway/50%City. Switched out factory dino out at 2K with Amsoil 0W-30. Valve noise quieted up significantly, smoother idle, and maybe a slight MPG bump( 1-2mpg)

I am one of the guys that has not noticed a mpg increase, although part of that may be due to the season i got my truck. When i got my truck it was somewhat cool outside, then started getting hot about the end of the month so i have used my AC constantly. I expect my mpg to go up when it cools off and i stop using the AC every day and night

I would expect a two wheel drive (prerunner?) to get better mileage than a 4x4. The prerunner term must be a non-NewEnglad thing, as we don't here that term at all. Or maybe its just me.

Any toyota not get reasonable mileage( like every one else gets) can be inspected by the dealers people to make sure all parameters are with in spec's. The rest is driving habits

Im taking mine on a trip in the next 2 weeks or so. I cant wait to see the MPG for all highway. I bet it will be around 22-23. Cant argue with that for a 4.0.

Hopefully, I am taking a 150 mile all highway trip this Sunday and it will be my first chance to put my Taco in 6th and just leave it there at 70mph or so and check that mileage.
Also hoping for 22+, with a nice steady foot.

I don't know how many MPG I have been getting on a regular basis, but I always watch how many miles I get to a tank. I have a 2007 PreRunner Double Cab and I consistently get about 425 miles/tank with about a 16th of a tank left. Also, you will always get better gas mileage on the top half of the tank. From the 1/2 mark to the E, you get less efficient gas mileage. I run about 50/50 city/interstate and just make sure that I don't "get on it" unless I have to. Anytime I begin to accelerate hard or hauling a load, etc., I always expect not to get as much MPG.

Way back in the day, the Gov't made it kinda mandatory for all cars to never get more than 300-400 miles per tank. That way, on long trips, they can make sure that you are getting out of your vehicle and walking around/waking up every few hours to help prevent fatigue/falling asleep while driving.

Sorry I got off topic a little...I'm just full of useless information! :)

Mine was on Aug. 19th. That is a pic in the Avatar from that day.Is yours the Long Bed? I am getting a truck cap for mine from Leer caps. I have one on my Ranger and it works great. I had thought about a lid, but I like the extra space the cap affords....Rich
