I know there are pages and pages of discussion on this, but with my truck being at 100k miles, should I do a drain/fill or a full flush of the tranny? I'm a little intimidated by the cost/time/process of the full flush, especially with my limited garage space.

    back to bone stock.
My full drain used up something like 11 qt of fluid. The entire affair cost me a little over $200. Not worth the DIY. Ask around at good shops.

I just performed a general tune up on my 05 4x4 auto. I did front and rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid, flushed the transmission with 15 qts of the toyota ws trans fluid. Throttle body and maf sensor cleaning, and new spark plugs. I used this forum to gather information on each of those and found everything I needed. The tranny flush isn't bad at all. I would recommend getting a buddy to help so you don't have to crawl from under truck to cab so many times. I talked my local dealer down to $7 a quart for the toyota ws auto tranny fluid. I also took the extra time to drop my tranny pan and clean before flushing. So I got a new gasket from dealer for that. I plan on doing a coolant flush soon and have the bushing ordered for the front cv axle vibe issue. Also ordered ride rite air bags and an on board air compressor to help that rear suspension under light loads. All things I would give attention to if I were you.

You will need a grease gun and there should be 3 fittings on the front drive shaft and 2 on the rear one, i grease mine every 5 to 8 K miles.

I might do a drain/fill and check the fluid condition to see if it needs a full flush.

congrats on the truck!i just picked up my 08 double cab this past friday,24900 miles on mine.for your tranny i would honestly take it to a shop that does a pan drop and filter change.my close friends own a shop and its well worth it to see whats going on in there and you may catch something before its turns worse.just my thoughts on it
