DIY leather arm rests

Think that would work with Neoprene? Thinking about getting some Wet Okole seat covers that would be black Neoprene as well as cover for the center console in the same material so the arm rests would really complete that look.

yes neoprene should work. It might be slightly harder to stretch than leather. But I am confident it will work.

did you do the back yet??Im havin a leather kit that I bought put in and saw that the back looks to be similar..Do those screws hold well. do you think they will get loose?? thanks

Havent had time to do the back yet, I am building a new bike. Too busy. The screws hold very well. I have not had any problems yet.

i just melted my headlight trying out the black headlight mod according to the tips i gathered from different forums, so what are the chances and consequences of me screwing this one up too lol, oh and btw the oven temp was a little too high, dont try 310 degrees no matter what anybody says they did theirs at haha

If you go slow you should not have any problems. Aside from screwing something up when you take apart the door, just be careful not to drill through the door or put screws in that are too long and would go out the other side.

i've pulled door panels off of other vehicles before so i should be alright with that department, any certain kind of spray on adhesive you used? and about how much leather will i need to purchase to do them with some extra in case i screw up

You should just go to the hardware store and get whatever 3M adhesive says for use on fabrics, it might be 3M number 64 or 73, I am not sure. As for size, get about twice what you need, maybe 4 - 6 sq feet. Make sure it is thin, about 6oz. Any shop that sells leather will know the various weights of leather.

so i should just go over the factory fabric then? or still pull it off and use the adhesive on the bare plastic?

I would pull off the old stuff or else it will be too thick to put back together

Just did this.. and It was very easy!!thank you for the write up,
now I'm doing the back of the extra cab.. I removed the back panel and same plastic rivets!!..did the same method and it worked out perfectly...

could you put up some pics of the back? i have an access-cab too, what fabrics did you replace with the leather? the actual seats?

the back part of the back seats ..(cloth)
I got a leather kit and it came with all the pieces.when Im done with all the glueing, I will try to take the cloth off the front seats , and the bottoms of the back seats too. then ALL done!!.. but one step at a time for me..... thanks again.. oh by the way I got the kit from ebay.for around 400 bucks. I will post some pics...
