Haha, honestly, I kind of wish he would take the truck from me. I would be less tempted to do anything stupid. I would be fine if it just sat in the driveway, but selling it is a different story.

What did you tell him? There is only like 2 ways to bend a rear axle haha.

Either you slid into a curb, or somehow did this like you said. Though that may be a lie too.

Doing stupid stuff isn't the problem, most of us do stupid stuff. The only really stupid part of this whole thing is that you have a BRAND NEW truck that you're doing it in, paid for by your Dad.

What you need is what most people in your situation have: a 15 year old Toyota pickup, worth a few grand, that your Dad won't have to worry or care about you doing stupid things to, and you can take it offroad and break it all you want. No need to be doing this in a $30k+ truck, that the owner has explicitly told you not to do.

Well, I'm going to tell him the truth and see how that goes. And yeah, when I hit that ditch it felt like sliding/ramming into a curb.

Yes I know. I told him I wanted an old jeep but he said no. And my dad doesn't trust buying used vehicles which is stupid.

Well maybe after telling him what you did you can use this situation to get a hold of an older vehicle that he won't care about you going out and having fun in.

I have yet to see him say his age. He implied he is in college earlier though.

I have been abusing vehicles for 35 years, and I have broken springs, seized shock absorbers, cut tires on rocks, dented body panels, but I have YET to actually bust or bend an axle housing. On the other hand, Dana 60, GM 14 bolt corporate axles and MOPAR 8.75 ring gear assemblies are pretty tough.

I really doubt the axle is actually bent, but time to confess, tell your dad and see where it leads.

But here is the bottom line, those who pay the bills, makes the rules.

    Best of luck.

I don't see your point other than you can use the search function. I'm impressed.

You'll keep thinking that matters until you're out of school.

    Then: lol.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
it has now been four days and still nothing regarding what the actual damage may be....sufficient time to have it at least checked, kripes, most alignment shops will check for nothing or a nuisance fee.....

this is wack, young spoiled kid, my dad wouldn't even cosign for a loan on my first car, had to save and scrimp, then the insurance....WTF...

I doubt that he will tell his dad anything, it sounds like he is out of excuses and options and the only thing he can focus on is the certain loss of his precious truck if his dad gets wind of all that has happened, there is fear wrapped in many of his answers...

    this is gonna be good...

You need to take a hard look at life and figure out what kind of man you want to be.

That and buy a digital level like Jason told you so you can determine whether or not there is even a problem to address.
