I know, i know, search search search. I have, and to be honest there is almost too much information. Im hoping for a quick answer to my question though... i already have 5100s installed on the front and 5125s in the rear. im looking to replace the springs but want to make sure i don't eff anything up. Can i run either coil with the billies at 0 or .85? im looking for a smoother ride while maintaining my ride height (currently have billies at 2.5 on stock springs and it is rough).

Keep in mind the eibach/toytecs are a heavier coil at 620 instead of factory which I THINK is around 550

I ran 886 OME coils set at 0 on my 5100's when I only had a bullbar up front and it was still pretty smooth. Since you are an Access Cab you may opt for 884's or 885's set at 0 to get a smoother ride. Eibachs are supposed to be pretty nice too. All that pre-load on your factory coil is was is giving you that rough ride...

To maintain 2.5" of lift, I'd recommend OME 885 coils. The Eibachs are a stiff coil and you need to preload them to .85 in order to maintain your current lift. Brock is correct, the Eibach coils are quite a bit stiffer than stock so preloading them can make them ride stiff. Ome coils are still stiffer than stock but not as heavy as the Eibachs. Stock is around 540, OME is around 580, Eibachs are 620 #/in.

So I take it the stiffer coil NOT compressed will ride better either way than my stock coil compressed? And I can run either of the aftermarket coils on the lower two settings? I'm thinking 885s... I have a guy building me a bumper which will add a good amount of weight up front. Thanks!

Not sure about 884's, but you shouldn't run 885's or 886's at anything other than 0 especially if you run the spacer with them.

The thread just took a right turn. Since you're adding weight to the front, I suggest you get 886x springs along with OME shocks. Do it right the frist time. I tell you from experience. I have an ARB bumper without a winch. After a lot of reading on here, I ended up just getting 885x springs because I thought it'd be ok since I don't have a winch. Wrong..it's too soft and started to sag after a while so I had to add a top plate spacer.

EVEN WITHOUT A WINCH, 886x springs would be a better choice with added weight up front. I know someone will come in say "well the ARB bumper is the heaviest out there." Wrong again, the weight is right a around 85-95 lbs which the average weight of most plate bumpers. YOu can always sell your 5100s. They're very popular around here and would sell quick. :doit:

You are also a double cab and he is an access cab so your front end is heavier than his. I ran 886's just fine with no weight up front while some of the access cab guys find 885's stiff with no weight up front. Also I think he is only looking for 2.5" of lift not 3". 886's are going to give you 3" of lift with weight.

What is the benefit of selling 5100s to buy ome shocks? Not trying to be an ass but I don't understand why 5100s at 0 wouldn't work fine with the 885/886 spring to achieve lift...? Thanks!
