I have the same but a short bed with a cap. I just drove from California to Michigan, when keeping the hwy speeds at 55-70, the best I got was 25.7mpg (flat land with cruise control on of course). The lowest was 17.5 and an average of about 22.5 if I didn't get too far north of 80ish. I now have 4,000ish miles on it.

I have an '06 short bed. My gas mileage is crappy b/c I drive 10 miles r/t to my office everyday in it (lots of traffic lights, too).

Total miles are just over 6k.

I have about 17k on my double cab shortbed and i average at 21mpg, combo of highway and city driving. Just made a trip from New Orleans to Miami and back last week and got between 19 and 21. So i am really happy I'm right in the range of what the suggested mpg should be.

Just over 2K miles on my 07 Prerunner AC. Between 16-18MPG. Mostly short trips to work, etc. 75% street driving.

Your just like me. You'll freak for a month or two and drive like a grandma to get that extra mile or two per gallon. Then you will realize that it is not that important and that your truck kicks ass and needs to be driven accordingly.
