Hey all, just installed my 3" Toytec lift, spacers in the front and AAL in the rear. Put on 285/75r16 goodyear duratracs. The only thing I had to remove so no rubbing would happen is the little flaps in front of the front tires. Anyone else have this done?

Probably due to the backspacing of your wheels

Have you flexed it yet ?

I did too. I put 285/75/17 on my stock trd sport wheels. I had to remove the front little flaps. I took my mudflaps off the front as well.

Does your tire rub the upper control arm at full turn?

It does not touch the UCA at full turn. It's really close though like 1/4 of an inch away. This is from what I can see the widest tire you can get without getting wheel spacers. Truck rides a little stiffer but is well worth it for the way it looks. Duratracs are pretty quiet as well. A little hum to them but not noticeable unless you listen for it.

try full turn in reverse. My 255/75/17 on stock wheels will rub the uca doing that.

I'll try that. I have done full turns both ways back and forward and don't seem to rub. How wide are your wheels. Mine are 16x8.

Hope that wouldn't damage anything bumping the UCA

I don't know how wide they're. They're the stock trd sport wheels.

Since the UCA is attached and moves with the wheel I don't think it would rub unless I get crazy compression on the front end like if I jumped it or something.

Assuming OP is running the TRD FJ wheels in his avatar pic, those have about 5" b.s. I believe, as opposed to the 5.5" b.s. of stock Tacoma wheels. This should be just enough b.s. to keep the tire off of the UCA. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

    Huh?

The UCA is attached closer to the top of the shock tower (don't know what the location is called) and the spindal. It only moves up and down. The most realized movement comes from the distal portion. It doesn't move when you turn the wheel.

You are correct. I have the TRD FJ wheels and have about 1/4 inch of clearance from my uca. Just enough backspace to make it work

That is exactly what I got except for the shocks. My truck came with the 5100's so I just got the front spacers and the AAL for the rear. Was 300 shipped so that price you have there is a good deal. 3" is the perfect lift amount
