Have a good american made or columbian machete handy. A machete can be used for all kinds of cool stuff. blaze trails, clear campsites, harvest sugarcane and pot, dig, overturn thrid world dictatorships, and etc. Don't buy those three dollar ones, they suck, get an Ontario knife or have one brought back from columbia. Those guys know their machete shit. I also carry a Wyeth-Scott power puller for recovery: https://www.wyeth-scott.com/index.asp

I also like to cary a chain and a strap. Chains dont get cut.

Thats true about the machete hahah. But those look sicker when the leather cases are mounted to the side of the seat where it's easy to reach. Ive seen a machete in a case set up like that in a z71 tahoe before

I have just a shoe box locked to a tie down but it's got plenty....

  • Recover Straps
  • Bungees
  • ratchet straps
  • 100' of P-cord
  • assorted sockets (metric and SAE)
  • Screwdrivers
  • pliers/vise grips
  • very comprehensive 1st aid kit
  • a couple of lighters
  • a couple of knives
  • firestarting materials (cardboard, sawdust and even shotgunshells for the powder(or to kill shit with))
  • Flashlights
  • planks of wood to set bottle jack on
  • jumper cables
  • various electrical connections & electrical tape/fuses
  • gloves
  • E-tool
I'm sure there's more in there but I just can't think what right now

I left one in my backseat onetime and was coming home from work. The trooper that pulled me over ran my ar15 and my carry pistol to see if they were stolen. When he found the machete, he shit in his pants and called his boss. Apparently its illegal to keep one in the cab in Texas. So check first.

They let me go. I apparently matched the description of a drug dealer in a white dodge dually with a cattle trailer on the back with a roping horse in it. The hardware freaked barney out a little.

I just remembered that astronaut had a bunch of supplies in her car too. Do not wear adult diapers and carry ductape, rope and sleeping pills. If you wear adult diapers just join AAA.

I'd love to see someone keep a machete in their truck around here. After the cops stop shooting to reload, maybe you'll have a chance to surrender.

I'm no cop hater by any means (I outgrew that phase about 20 years ago) but some of the dumbest cops on earth are right here in Horry County. Even the 3 cops in my family would agree.

I never have been. I would just hate to be somewhere where the police shoot first. I dont think we have that here yet.
