Meet a guy today at Honda while i was getting my bikes maintenance done. We where standing outside and i saw a good looking black Tacoma, made a comment, and turned out it was his. He told me he was thinking of selling it so i went to take a closer look at it. Other than having Murdered it out it was all stock with the typical wear and tear. I got interested but I seriously almost pissed myself when he told me he wanted 20k for it. Guy wouldn't even go down $500. Do these trucks seriously hold this much value?? I was thinking 16k at most especially for the year. KBB doesn't seem to really reflect the value of them so im looking to get some other owners perspective.

If that was here, KBB has a fully loaded (you didn't list options) TRD Off Road for just over $14K. He's way off.

I was at dealer, this guy traded his '07 /w 120,000 miles in for a '13 ,it sold for 22k ,before he was able to finish his purchase on new truck, hard to find but out there.Their resale value is the highest for small trucks.

I was going sell mine myself. When dealer told what they would give me plus the tax break it was hardly worth the trouble. I do not even want to know what they sell it for. Dealer put loan value north of what I paid. A dealer will typically get at least $1000 more for one than an individual. The dude can ask whatever he wants but he may not get it.

2007 DCSB TRD sport loaded with leather and much aftermarket stuff (tires, wheels etc.) 111,000 miles. Great shape. $18K.

Sounds a little high to me.

20k is too much my 08 isn't worth that much and I am at 96,000 miles. I would be lucky to get 18k for my truck and it is in pretty damn good shape. My rig is a mall crawler after all. :D

Yeah i knew these trucks held their value but come on a 05 for 20k!? What should i offer this guy? 15k? Its mainly just gonna sit in the garage for a bit till i get some money to lift it and do some other little things. Then ill probably use it off-road every couple weeks, but finding one on my budget has been a pain in the ass. Its making me reconsider other trucks
