The truck I want is coming in to a dealership near me. Let me have it. Pros and cons. And what is the MOST I should pay. And should I take off the Security system and vehicle shield package? What is a vehicle shield package?

I figure TTL will be $2,200 so I'm hoping to drive it off the lot for $32,000. Am I asking for too much?

Also what are the odds of getting them to throw in a longer warranty?

And does upgrading to 4x4 really cost $3,000? I thought it was $2,300-2,500.

E-mail from dealer. Great no pressure guy so far.

And yes, I can get a 4x4 with the TSS Package. Actually have a white one coming in. Below I have attached the Moroney Sticker for it. It is scheduled to be here at the end of the month. It is still in Shipping Status, which means it hasn't gotten to the Distribution Center yet. It is scheduled to have some things added to it such as a Security System & Vehicle Shield Package. If you think this is the right one I can stop those things from being put on it since it is early in the process. Will take about $730 off the price.

He said $31,270 was the lowest he could go. So drive out would be $33,400. or $500 less than sticker price.

Not sure if I like that deal or not.

I usually aim for half way between MSRP and Dealer's Price! Just be firm and try not to show too much emotion.

This strategy has worked pretty well for me over the years! :)

What is "dealer invoice"? Thats the question.

Think I can get them to throw in an extended warranty or something?

How do you know they do not jack up their invoice? Or hold back, or get a kickback after they sell each truck?

I'm seeing a lot of people saying they bought a new DC V6 TRD offroad out the door for $500-$1000 less than they are telling me is before TTL.

Somethings not adding up, unless the TSS Texas Edition 4x4 is worth 2-3k more than the 4x4 TRD... Is it?

some people still get extra rebates like military and stuff like that, and that can allow them to make it under invoice since it comes from toyota themselve's and not the actual dealership. they also have more wiggle room when the new models come out, and they need to get rid of the old one's. not saying it's impossible to get below, but some people get upset when they cant get below invoice. i know the texas editions' are more then the TRD offroad (it's basically an upgrade on top of the off road) but i'm not sure of the exact price.

when you select the model, it has colors and options just below it, under options you can select texas edition. it says "t/x"

    If you expand T/X is says;
"inc: 16" TRD beadlock style alloy wheels, wheel locks, TRD performance exhaust, T/X Pro graphics (REQ: OC TRD Off-Road Pkg) (N/A w/AL Wheels) (PPO)"

So is that it? Why does it say Req, TRD Off-Road?

It forces you to also choose TRD off road, but the truck I want is not TRD. It's a SR5 , TSS , and 4x4 combo.

The TRD OR package is probably the closest to the T/X. That will at least get you close. Most dealers will show you the dealer invoice amounts, though, just ask. I always offer $500 over dealer invoice if they are not already trying to deal, never pay more than that.

The extended warranty guys are usually like a separate department with their own incentives. Getting them to "throw it in" would be tough, the sales guy would have to drop the price on the truck to cover what the warranty guy wants. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

Drop the vehicle protection package if you can (those are a ripoff, I used to do them at a Datsun dealer when I was 15, basically spray undercoat from a can).

Your call on the security system, it is not unreasonable.
