    Hey guys, thanks in advance

The abs has been kicking in on my truck pretty regulary whenever i get on the brakes even moderately hard. Mostly in traffic on my way to work if someone cuts me off or stops short. If i am just driving and slow down normally it is not happening, but if it is wet out or I have to get on the brakes harder than normal it is happening. There is no idiot lights on or anything so no indications anything is wrong. I can feel it in the pedal and hear it, although it is not as loud as it would be if ABS kicked in all of the way.

The truck is a 05 TRD OR AC 4x4, 107k on it.

Anyone else experience anything like this ? Any ideas what it could be ?

Let me know if I left any key details out that might help

there are numerous threads about the ABS and it being too sensitive at times and how to deactivate it selectively. read them.

Before anything though check your tires and suspension to make sure you dont have something else going on. obviously bald tires don't grip the road very well.

Have it first checked out by a reputable shop that is knowledgeable about the Toyota ABS system. There can be the start of a problem that has not gotten bad enough for the computer to trigger a failure code, but enough to cause issues. Dirt, wear, and corrosion on a sensor tip or the reluctor wheel can cause an erratic signal, which can result in unwanted or unnecessary ABS activation.

I have searched and read and I have not seen anyone experiencing quite the same problem as me. I am not looking to deactivate it, I am looking to fix it.

My tires and suspension are fine, and if this was a sensitivity issue I would have expected to see it prior to 107k miles. It has just started happening recently.

What does that mean? ABS is either active or not active. It doesn't partially activate.

Most probable is a wheel sensor going out.
