meh, we agree....to disagree :D. With that logic then since we have ICB nukes.....eventually one will shoot off all by itself. Hogwash I say.

Actually the term is striker fire.

Striker Fire: Rather than a hammer, an internal striker is cocked and released to fire. The striker is cocked by the first motion of the slide, and there is no way to decock other than squeezing the trigger.

The only stories you will find is "expert" not knowing the basics of firearms training. And Darwinism culls them from the gene pool.

My XD .45 has never just gone off cocked and locked with safety engaged ever.

It's also very easy to not use apostrophes and hyphens; and punctuation in general.

It is very easy to not use punctuation in general but the fact remains that although I may not use proper puntuation you have a hole in the floor of your truck from a self proclaimed gun expert and buy into the fact that the gun just went off when every one else is telling you that you are more likely to win the lottery than that happening :D

I have been shooting for 40 years. I teach firearms as well and I have never seen an unintentional discharge that did not have a hand on the gun. Every unintentional discharge was easily explained by human error. Not one by design flaw or the next to mythical slam-fire.

    Bingo.

This also "only" happens while firing the weapon. Instead of simply racking the next round and waiting for a trigger pull, the pin strikes the primer while racking and the weapon fires.
