So my brother-in-law gets in my truck this weekend to check out some stereo work. He pulls out a 45 he recently purchased. He's pretty apt when it comes to guns (former military) and I was raised to respect guns above all else.

Somehow the pistol went off...don't know how as I was not holding it and it shot into my center console, through the sheet metal tunnel that travels above the tranny and differential. So far no parts are bothered; nothing visual; no leaks; no noises. I even have the bullet. All damage seems to be just cosmetic.

Not to make light of this as it could have been deadly. I proved that, as Boy's Life put it, "Toyota Drivetrains are Bullet Proof."

As retarded as it sounds I have seen this happen with other military guys who were "proficient" with firearms. Most people are stupid when it comes to this. Glad you are ok though. Def post up some pictures of this.

    1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded
    2. Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot
    4. Keep the weapon on safe until you are ready to fire
    5. Know your target and what lies beyond.

Overconfidence doesn't just happen with guys like that.

"I know there are perfect people to whom this will never happen .........until it happens."
    Ed Avilia Sr.

Take it as a chance to reflect upon safety. No no I know you're already the safest most perfect dude out there already, I get it. (not you team america -- just this thread in general)
