1989 Reliant K 4 door, 2.2 auto: bought it from the brother of a guy I worked with (retired rig welder, would do mechanical refurbishments on these as a hobby) 6 days into ownership, it threw rod #3 on my way home from nightshift. In -30. Luckily, a mechanic who worked in the next town up the road from my hometown saw it let go while following me on the highway and gave me a ride home. Took it back to the guy I bought it from, had a core professionally built and he put it back together again. Got about 150,000 out of it before a head gasket went. Out to Kar-Bashers self serve yard it went!
