Wow! Definitely sounds like a dealership rip off. Considering you can buy an ipod interface from usaspec that does the same thing and costs less than half the price.

I love how it integrates the whole system into it. It would make life much more convenient and also cool feature... Such as the text-display / control on the dashboard. But it's pricy :( I got my universal FM transmitter for 50$.. i saw one for 20$ that's an ipod on overstock (FM).

The majority of music on my ipod rockbox is FLAC lossless music and I wanted to get all the quality without having to burn it on a cd, but 300$ damn...

I went back and looked at that again and I am not sure. That particular one is not exactly like the one in my truck. I think that this is the one in my truck now. Still better than $300.00

I went to Metra and didn't see a lot of information on that $50.00 peice. But, i do know that it plugs into the back of the radio, so I have to assume that the audio controls will control the ipod, as well, when activated. On my truck it added another CD setting (am, fm, tape, CD, CD1) which plays the iPod.

It is the best investment I have ever made in my car. I use it religiously!
