My windshield cracked today on the way to work...flooded road in construction zone, some guy cutting infront of me while spinning tires in the rain, sending a chuck of gravel into the windshield...crack.

Best price I have got so far is $228...does that sound reasonable?

Sounds a little steep. Maybe it's because of where I live. I paid 120 for the front but it's not OEM. Looks the same to me though. But 228 doesn't really sound that bad. Depends where you live I guess.

Do you have a glass deductible on your auto insurance? If so, you only have to pay a small amount.

Your state doesn't have any type of windshield replacement policy? Here in MA we automatically qualify for a replacement windshield if it is damaged, only catch is we only get 1 a year.

This is Tennessee, we don't need big government, besides I am paying under $600 a year for full coverage on the Taco, and liability on the 62 Town Wagon, 62 M37 Power Wagon and 68 Dodte Utiline Pickup. So a windshield every 15 years isn't bad.

Got about 20 rock chips in my '13 windshield between Lymon and Colorado springs. The big trucks were rolling by blasting me with ice or something. Going to have to replace mine too.
