I havnt done it on this truck yet, but on any other, I would pull the radiator, find the motor drain, and replace the t-stat. while the t-stats out you can flush you motor really well. button everything back together and fill it up, pre-mixing your coolant in the correct amount is a good idea. fill the radiator till it takes no more, squeeze hozes to try and burp some air out of the motor.

make sure your heater is on, (leave fan on low) start the truck, cap off, and let her run, as it get warm, the coolant may start to over-flow and may burp and gurgle a bit, but then, the t-stat will open and suck your level down. fill it up again, and repeat the procedure. you will go through a few t-stat openings before the radiator is about as full as it will get (it will never be exactly full with the cap off, because as the water heats it will overflow out, and leave a void when the t-stat opens). when you reach that point, close the cap, and fill your reservoir. I always watch through one or two more cycles to make sure that the reservoir moves with t-stat opening and closing, but stays between high and low marks.

let the truck cool down, and pull the radiator cap one more time, it should be full.

this is kindof painstaking and im sure there is a better way but it works for me. make sure your new rad comes with a new FACTORY CAP. found out with my last truck that the wrong cap can cause you all sorts of headache
