I have a 2012 dclb.....Since day one the heat/ac blows out of the vents when the system is turned to "off". Depending on where the selector is on the heat/cold dial it's either blowing cold or hot air that I have to keep adjusting to keep the temp normal in the truck, kinda a pain in the ass. Last I checked "off" means off, as nothing comes out!....Also when you set it to come out in the floor well it barely comes out, to the point that on high my feet get cold in the winter! Just wondering if anyone else has had these issues before I bring it into the dealer and complain... Thanks for any input..........

hvac air intake is at the front of the truck, a lot blows in even when off. pushing recirc will solve your problem. if you feel like your truck isn't blowing enough, check your cabin air filter behind the glove box. it may be clogged

It does time out and go back to fresh air I believe if you push and hold the button for a few seconds it stays off.

The dealer won't fix it if it ain't broke. They all work that way.

If you push and hold the recirc button for a few seconds it will 'lock' it until you hit the button again.

As for air coming in through the vents it's most likely from driving and the air flowing into the cabin intake. All of them do it.

The "Off" option is for the blower/fan only. The vents are going to be open unless the system is in Recirc mode...that closes them and then you should not be getting much, if any, air through with the blower off.

ok update.....Yes, hitting the recirculate butten def cuts the hot/cold breeze coming in.....Bring it in for regular service the other day and I said i'll tell'm about the no heat coming out on the floor. Well, tried it right before I got there and it worked fine. Maybe it was just a stuck flap but it just figures! Another thing to keep an eye on!

So driving into work this morning, with the heat on floor, my recirculate turned itself off twice. My 2005 never did that (or I never noticed it). Are y'all saying this is normal?
