get some primer(if it is really bad) then take a paint OEM pen or spray can, mask the part off. and you should be good as new.

If the scratch is down to the metal I don't think a scratch remover will help much. Go to your dealer and get some touch up paint. The touchup paint is going to leave an un-even blob. I used this to finish up the job. It's about the best you can do short of having the areas spot painted.

If you are seeing metal, there is no paint left in the scratch - your only options are touch up the scratch or repaint the entire panel.

    Good luck

    getting there....
the way you do it is to put it on layer at a time,.......drying between each coating, then when its even.......buff it with a polish....it'll blend pretty well.

Sorry to hear that happened, hope snowboarding was fun
My truck goes in tomorrow for a fix down to the metal scrape from a hit & run. If the paint wasn't chipping off or down to the metal & wouldn't even had bothered since its on the passenger side & I don't see it. :p
The first one is always the worst.....best of luck with the fix.

Most every one has said the obvious: if it is indeed down to the metal, scratch remover wont do it - scratch remover is not a ding remover it is simply a very mild rubbing compound in liquid form.

You need to fill the scratch which is several mills deep; primer one or two coats (after cleaning with alcohaul or Prep-Sol; then another cleaning then start to layer on the touch up paint. It will leave a bump, but go to a professional auto paint supply store and get a small paint shaver (it is a samll tool with a razor in it) to shave the bump down; then starting with around 1000 grit wet/dry paper, wet sand lightly untill you are using 1500 or so paper; Then use a very light polishing compund to blend in the repair with the surrounding area; Then wax and polish.

From the sounds of the posts on this forum, some folks, certainly not all, dont think enough of their rides to go to this much trouble- if it is lifted and makes a nice sound that is close enough. But it is the detail work that tells everyone what kind of mechanic you really are and just how nice that truck actually is underneath.

Just my opinion of course, some of us are a bit more anal then others.

Get a touch up pen/brush. Clean the area well, take a toothpick and dip it in the paint so that you're left with a small drop of paint on the end then apply to the scratch. If you take your time and go slow you won't be left with a big blob of paint.

many small coats of paint will fill it in. i did that on a couple scratches on a dark car before and it worked well. use a toothpick like the guy above me suggested.

toyota does offer touch up paint, but the thing is that alot of the colors that come with our trucks have that metallic glitter crap in it, the touch up doesnt have the metallic, its a solid color

It should be on the driver side door jam information label. It should be a 3 digit alpha-numeric code.
