So.. I wouldn't have upgraded to 265/75/16 but was assured it wouldn't rub.. well.. its rubbing..

If I get a 5100 leveling kit would that fix it? Will I need to upgrade my anything else? Does anyone know if discount tire takes tires back? :(

I have motometal 951 with 4.5" backspace, it was rubbing on the front mudflaps so I took them off, it still rubs on the inside though when I'm turning sharp or if I'm turning out of a driveway. I was under the impression it wouldn't rub at all.

I upgraded to 265/70-17, same size overall. I removed the front mud flaps and I was fine. Must have something to do with your wheels.

what model you have, 4wd, 2wd, prerunner? I went from a 30.4" stock to a 31.7" (estimated) luggier tire, no rubbing.

I have the 2 wheel drive tacoma.

Would a leveling kit help by pushing the front up a bit?

oh jees, yea the 265/75 is a standard for the 4wd/prerunner. to run those 265s on a 2wd i'm sure you need a specific lift kit. Check the 5lug section, they do a lot of lifting that you might be interested in.

Just lift the rear alittle and you should be fine. I had the same size tire on my 07 and was fine.
You should only need about a inch or so.

He's rubbing up front, he needs to lift the front.

265/70-16 is stock. 265/75 is +1 size from stock.

OP, you really shouldn't have rubbing issues unless you're really pushing it or something. It's odd that you are getting rubbing, but not unheard of. If lifting the truck a bit is the fix you want the two main recommendations you'll get are 5100s or OME shocks and coils and an AAL to complement either of those.

5100s set to 1.75 up front and a 1.5" AAL (I recommend Wheeler's or Icon 3 leaf progressive AAL) will level you out and do away with your rubbing. If you want a little more lift you can add a 1/4" top plate spacer from ToyTec to either side for an additional 1/2" of lift up front and leave your stock OL leaf in the rear for an additional 1/2" of lift in the rear. Top plate spacers cost $20 or something like that so not too much more for an extra 1/2" of lift all around. The OL leaf is obviously free. That'll put you at 2.25" lift up front and 2" in the rear for pretty cheap compared to any other option.

OME shocks and coils are a better bet IMO but will also cost a little more. Only you can figure out if the added cost is worth the difference to you or not, but those are your two basic options for a simple lift.

Rubbing is definitely due to the rims. I have 265/75R16 Duratracs on my stock aluminum rims. They have aggressive lugs and don't rub at all.

Not sure about the lift effectiveness. You'll have to see exactly where they are rubbing and how much lift would be required to get clearance. IMO, a little fender flare trimming may be your easiest fix.
