I am looking at installing some extra gauges in my 2012 tacoma, one i want to be volts, the other one i would like to be a mpg gauge. Looking for opinions and suggestions of different set-ups. Here's what i'm thinking:

    URD Flex pod gauge mount

    http://urdusa.com/p1260519003/FlexPod-Gauge-Mount,-Tacoma-2005+/product_info.html

    mpg gauge

    http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto-Meter/105/9105/10002/-1?parentProductId=1154463#moreDetails

Still haven't decided on what type of volt gauge i would like.

Does anyone have the flex pod gauge mount, if so it would be nice to see pictures of different set-ups.

Have you looked at a Scangauge II?
Does a lot more than just 'MPG'.

Agreed. I have an ultra guage as well. It can tell you all kinds of things from instand and average Mpg to voltage to air intake temp and all kinds of stuff. Won't do auto tranny temp, the scan guage will though.

I figured that out... That sucks because that was one gauge that I would have liked to have had. Well that and a EGT but I wasn't expecting that anyway. Oh well... I do like that it gives intake temp and engine temp though. Pretty cool device and well worth the $60 or so.

Yeah, I just couldn't spend the extra $60 for the scanguage just to gain tranny temp plus the ultraguage has a bigger screen.

I just ordered a obd2 wireless adapter and will be downloading the torque apt on my droid when it gets in. Adapter was just over $12 and so is $5 it does all that I think plus shows and can clear codes or used as boost gauge shows afrs and a pretty good bit more for under $20 can't beat it if u have a smart phone just sayin. There is a review of it in the performance and tuning threads.

I did that first too, but I like my ultraguage better. Not a bad deal if you plan on just using it here and there, but the ultraguage is better for a more accurate and permanent set up. The ultraguage can check and clear codes as well. I am using the adapter in my car now.

Yeah I'm married and figured this way I can move it to my wifes car pretty easy on trips or what ever and if it doesnt do just exactly what I want I can give it to her and i can get somethin else as well. If I gain .5 mpg with this its well worth the 17.22 the other gauges are just a bonus. And one day when I find $4000 Ima take my turbo kit out the window(that I've been shopping out of) and ill have a boost gauge. FI FTW

I've pieced everything thing (turbo, fuel system upgrade, intercooler, bov, wastegate, megasquirt3) but the fabing together for like~$2700. Gonna have it set to run e85. Been talkin a bit to tor for suggestions. I hope I can get it fabbed for half of what I have in everything else but that's the only thing I haven't nailed down price wise. Lil turbodaves.com urdusa can't remember bout the megasquirt but it was like right at 1100 and (head held down in a bit of shame) lil eBay too (bov wastegate and intercooler) there is a performance fab shop about 20 miles from me so ill get an estimate one day.

Got ya. You are piecing your own together. I know of one turbo kit out there for 2nd gens, but price-wise you are looking at about the same as the URD S/C kit.

Yeah I've seen the one sikx at powerfabauto or what ever in huston is doin for $6400 and it is freakin sexy and the majority of my inspiration but can't justify a 5000 mile round trip, but hoping for similar outcomes.
Ps sorry for the thread jack.

Thanks guys, the reason for the pod cluster and gauges, was to make it more integrated, incase of possible theft. The ultra gauge looks really good though, so i'll look into it more.
