    There was a spider gear in the tail stock the off road guys took them out and installed a cross with no gears. The problem with the full time it uses a good more fuel when there is no need to be in 4WD.

    Might want to turn it on just to get everything moving and lubricated

    This is why I had a 4wd 4runner and 2wd Tacoma. The 4runner has a differential in the transfer case. Which allows the front & rear axles to spin at different speeds and makes it so you can drive on pavement with 4wd engaged as long as the center diff lock is disengaged. I drove all over Zion national park in 4wd right after it snowed with zero issues. The road is basically all switchbacks. It was nice because I could feel the difference in traction once I engaged 4wd.

    I miss my 4runner :(

    Yep ... good idea ... probably do it in a hard rain ... giving it some slippage.

    When the asphalt is hot here ... the traction is super and would be bad for it.
