If I crashed, I would think replacing a side window would be the less expensive part of my repairs.

Hopefully OP doesn't drive like a maniac around peds. :p

He would probably need to install a seal around the perimeter of the window frame. Tailgate seal probably would work:

For thieves, a plastic trim pry bar can probably overcome the magnets without much difficulty:

Definitely a very creative thing to do, for sure. I give you props for working out a solution for your needs!!

I wouldn't worry about thieves, what are they odds they would know your windows are magnetic? Not to mention, a thief can get into any car, all they have to do is break a window (magnetic or not)...

glue a cable to the window and on the other side make a loop on a mountain climbing clip detach thing, so if it pops out it doesnt go far and kill someone.

Where do you stow the glass when not in use? What do you do in case of rainfall? How is the truck secured if you need to leave it (gas stations, restaurant, dog food store)?

I'm making a case for the windows. Kinda like a hard bound book. I haven't decided where to store the case yet.
If it rains ill stop and put the windows in. Just like a old school trans am with tee tops. Lol love that redneck rig.

I'm not sure why everyone is asking about locking it. It's not like people go around prying on windows. ESP ones that they know don't open. Lol it's Hawaii not Oakland. Almost every third vehicle is a toyota truck. I'm not kidding either. My truck is insured and if my wife and I go to dinner we take her cute little audi a3 TDI.

I really like my tacoma but the designers really pulled some boner moves. The the door panel arm rest. Cloth in a truck where my dirty ass arms sit every day.

I know people aren't going around pulling on the back windows of access cabs...

I was interested in how you will secure that giant gaping hole when you need to make a stop while you're out bebopping around town sans glass. I know I always close my slider and roll up the windows, even at the gas pump if I go inside...I have insurance too, doesn't mean I want to deal with replacing a phone or iPod, or whatever because some opportunistic ass wipe snatched it through an open window...

On the same note...you can't really pull up to the grocery store, put the glass in and not be noticed by somebody...
