Not trying to pry, and none of my business...but, you offered the information. Care to elaborate? My intrest is piqued as to what would bring on this recommendation

    What about old dark interiors?

Fyi, you can get a second gen with tan interior...only top of dash and a few accents are dark...

about 4 months ago we purchased a 2013 mazda3 6spd manual with dark ext/interior. Within 2mos she was getting rashes even with towels/seat covers covering as much as possible.
her issue seems to be with newer dyes on sythetic clothes/rugs and interior plastics
we have talked to mazda with no result.
our fix has been to purchase a 1980's merecedes turbo diesel and for her to not be in either the mazda3 or my truck at all
my truck does not bother me or anybody else and has been a great truck
we have not been in older dark int cars but new lighter ones have been bad as well

    $32,000
    pictures up later today
    firestone ride rites
    trd cat back exhuast
    dirtbike rake

i realize i should have put this in buy/sell/trade mods feel free to move if that is the case

What have you done to prove that there is a allergen in the new vehicles? Have an allergy tests been done? Just saying you can be wasting a ton of money for something that sounds like bs and not solve the issue at hand.

I have heard of extreme chemical sensitivity. Some chemicals are actually cumulative sensitizers, and I'm not sure that the pigment matters.

+1 on the leather and maybe removing the carpet. Keep your truck, but maybe plastidip or bedliner your floorboards, dump the floor mats for weathertechs.

we have managed to get her into an older merc everything else is a crapshoot with older and lighter being less crappy and most seatbelts are particularly bad needing sleeves

i never said anything about older dark interiors. if i implied that then that was wrong

pics will be up tomorrow as photobucket seems to have changed for the worse and i need to detail the inside anyway.

hopefully a light interiored gen 1 will work for us

if you are bored google "dispersed dye allegery" "black rubber compound mix"

    http://www.worldallergy.org/public/allergic_diseases_center/contactdermatitis/

we are not blaming anyone but we are trying to move back to older vehicles where this should be less of an issue

in the pic of the tan interior that black steering wheel and all that other black plastic would be enough to cause a reaction. maybe if it was 20+ years old

maybe some kind of spray or covering might help thanx for the suggestions
