    Oh and

Safelite AutoGlass® was founded in 1947. Throughout our more than 65 years of service, our company has grown from a single store in Wichita, Kansas, to a national auto glass provider, serving more than 4 million customers per year.

safelite does make there own glass. They also charge you 45 dollars to remove the old glass and they recycle it. I was not happy with that but whatever. I looked at the glass difference when mine was being replaced and I can vouch that the glass from the factory is weak . I paid 443.00 for my windshield. Not bad considering you can go online and schedule they appt and they come to you. Took the tech about 30 minutes and the tech was very efficient and cleaned up all my windows when he was done. It made no sense to make a claim and have my insurance premium go up.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Safelite. Also, if you need your windshield replaced but don't have insurance coverage make sure to mention that to them and they most likely will drop the price.

If you use Safelite make sure not to use their own "SCG" house brand glass. It's terrible because it causes distorted views. I used Safelite but asked them to use Toyota glass. It was much more expensive but insurance paid anyways.

    Safelite: BEWARE!!

Used Safelite last weekend. Weird story.

Wifey's 2012 Scion xB took a rock on a California trip the week before.

Called for a quote on Friday, never made an appointment or a commitment, I was getting other quotes.

Next morning (Saturday)...a Safelite van shows up at my house.
I ask the guy, "Can I help you?". He has a work order for my wife's car.
I said, "Really? I never made any commitments to you guys."

He has my wife's glass and a $295.00 work order.

I said, "Call your company, I never made any appointment but since you're here I'll do this for $225.00 out the door, no more."

    He called his dispatcher.

I got it replaced in my garage for $224.95 out the door.

Great work, but beware of their tactics.
