Just came home from a 5429 mile vacation to Glacier N.P and the Canadian Rockies,
Got between 19.5 - 23.2 most fills averaged 21-22mpg alot of Interstate driving ,but did a lot of backroads and a nice stretch of 4 by4 road in Idaho....a little better than I expected. Overall the Tacoma did real well with wife and 2 golden retrievers in the back seat......I found out why dogs are mans best friend....Lock wife and dog in back for a hour..then let them out, see which one is happy to see you !!

Driving around town is going to kill your mileage anyways.
Take a look at my "Fuelly" link.
The tanks down at 23-24 are the result of one or maybe two days doing local shopping with the wife.
30-50 miles, usually much less... and it's enough to pull my 25-26 work commute average over 300 miles down by that much.

If I'm riding a 2013 SR5 4x4 AC V6 Auto down flat highway for 30 miles @ 70 mph - any guesses at what I'm looking at mpg wise? This would be my work commute - 60 miles round trip. Thanks all.

18 ish. These trucks vary a lot. Some get 16-17, some get 19-20. It goes up over time, brand new was rough for a bit for me then panned out.

I live in a small college town. Over the summer when there were no students I was averaging 16-18 in town, now that all the college kids have came back and im driving to class i average 12-14 in town. Its kinda aggravating. My tires only affect my millage in town. Im still able to get 18-22 mpg on long trips.

Hopefully dodge's new 8 speed auto puts some fire into Toyota's pants to get the mileage on these trucks up. The mileage on the v6 rams is getting awfully close to 5 lugger territory and it won't be long before people start jumping ship.

I looked up the new ratios of that new 8 speed behind the Pentastar in the HFE with the 3.21 rear end and put them into a calculator with the known Ram tire size. It spit out 1258 rpm at 55 mph and 1600 rpm at 70 mph in 8th gear. Woah.

Went from my 2008 Prerunner Double Cab Sport that was consistent 19-21mpg (city) to my new 2011 4WD Access Cab which is getting 20-21mpg (city) same engine and I guess same weight since the mileage is on par.

Driving 60 mph on flat road in a 05 4runner full time 4wd 4.7 v8....i think its weird that its gets such good gas mileage but in the city it's gets about 18 driving with a light foot

I average 10-12 mpg in my '98 4runner(265/75/R15 instead of 225/75/R15), best tank was about 18 mpg, don't know why, I drive the same every time.
