Looking to trade my 09 Taco with ABS, VSC, ABC, CBS, CNN or whatever other nonsense the current Tacos come with for a new Taco without all the BS. Just need a 4x4, 5 speed, and "let me be in control" of my damn truck option.

Is it possible to order a new truck without all the BS alphabet options?

    Thanks.

Sorry for the rant, but it frustrates the shit out of me when a truck has to be "smarter" then a driver.

    In a word:

    No.

Skid Control is federally mandated to be in all vehicles now. The rest of these features just use that same brake controller with different software algorithms to act as traction tools.

Honestly, there's not much wrong with them, they're "free features" because the hardware is already in place. They all have killswitches except for the VSC itself, which can be disabled for under-30 and low-yaw driving.

Hacked ABS kill switches do allow disabling these systems via shutting off ABS, at the cost of voiding warranty coverage of affected components.

    Enjoy!

Putting all that aside, Toyota does not let you select specific options to add or delete to a vehicle. They have packages, and it's all or nothing at that trim level. (Note: Please do not confuse "accessories" with "options" and rant about how you "can too" add/delete a roof rack/bed extender/seat dildo/tube steps. Options and accessories are different).

Frustrated. In my "old" 89 Taco or well pickup, I was totally in control and did what I wanted to. In my "new" Taco it's like Toyota (or from reading above) the government is like FU.....we are smarter and you will NOT be in control. I almost trashed my truck this weekend cause some damn system thought it would be a good idea to "straighten" out my truck while I was drifting around a corner in the desert. I know how to drive and don't need a damn system "correcting" what I'm doing. Oh and going up a sandy hill (powering through) , well that ain't gonna happen. Whatever system cuts the power to my wheels. WTF !!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHH

    No, I'm not mad.

High quality science has shown that VSC/ESC is second only to seat belts in saving lives in on-road driving accidents.

I'm not saying you need it, but think about most retards on the road.

    Or as Carlin put it:

I have all that stuff and I still feel I'm in control of my truck and I don't feel a need to disable it, it works fine.

Does it void your warranty to drive around unplugged?

I like ABS, but I hate that POS traction control. It may work for the inexperienced or shit drivers but I just want to run my truck off a cliff when that shit kicks in! I just want a button to turn it off when I'm driving it.... Without voiding my warranty

Any problem directly related to the unplugged wire would void that warranty.

If you are actually that paranoid put a blown fuse in for the ABS fuse
