Hey, new 2012 Dbl Cab Tacoma 4x4 TRD - 5k miles on it. Have been hearing 2 distinct noises from front of vehicle and seems like from the brake area.

First noise is like a release or slack sound when pulling forward from a stopped and parked position, nearly like a cable has been released. I can feel it in brake pedal if my foot is left on.

Also occasionally get a thumping feeling in the brake pedal more prominent in stop and go traffic but happens time to time in regular driving.

Have read a couple different things online - cant seem to find anything clear. At the 5K check up dealer says nothing wrong with brakes when checked out.

    Any thoughts?

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    Sounds like TSB-0016-13.

You are still under warranty, take it to the dealer.

There's a sound that happens whenever you start moving...more like a low pitched 'boing' - I'm pretty sure its normal. My truck has been doing it for 6 years & 60K miles. I just can't remember what it is.

The other issue - Is it more like a 'thump' after you come to a complete stop? If yes.....You have the Automatic transmission, which will often thump or lurch at a stop. If you stop too quickly, you'll feel a late 'thump or lurch' and it occurs more readily and harder when you're running A/C. It's like the transmission is downshifting late....

noise from the front is your brake pads, other is from 2 piece driveshaft. my 2005 dblcab has done it from day 1. no problems with either one so far. when I changed brake pads for the first time at 94k used the old anti rattle clips plus the new ones. only come with them on the bottom, put new ones on top. should be able to buy just the spring clips by them selves.
