I would remember a Teen USA incident. Fat bloody chance of having one.
Ratting out is against my nature.
I am unaware to what you refer.
I like the Carolinas non hot and humid.
I know them and VA pretty well.

navysob: pm tcBob and let him know you want in on the Alliance and he'll take care of it for you.

danusa: i'm not sure what you're talking about but SC is about as humid as it gets. I've lived here my whole life and every summer is hot and sticky and miserable.

I thought the Texas Gulf Coast was about as hot and sticky as it got. I used to work manual labor summer jobs in college and it routinely got to 100 degrees and 100% humidity. I sure was in shape back then.

I went through jump school in July and Aug. in 1964.
I avoid the area after May.
    And then there was Nam.
All the ammo that you could ruck.
Aside from being shot up, the salt and blood would crust on your fatigues.
    Less than comfortable.
And Saw dust was the PT and combatives media. That is almost as fun as bucking hay all day.

I spent a lot of time in VA. Great deer, turkey and Bob White hunting. The fishing is not bad either.
A good place for a sxs and a fly rod. Add beer and it does not get much better. You still have to di di mau in the summer.

Sounds like when you move you need to join our Alliance. You can be in charge of the fishing division

danusa: I love VA, thats where i eventually want to end up. I'm to hot blooded to live in SC. I need to go somewhere where it snows and is consistantly below freezing in the summer. Plus i love the mountains up there and its still below the Mason Dixon Line so its perfect for me. I have yet to see a more beautiful state.

I am a hist. and Phil. major. I went to Yorktown and Williamsburg for three days and spent eight. Even a navigation error turned out good. I went to Smithfield and got the best ham of my life.
Once you get on that bridge you are as commited as the hog.
I had a map but did not care much where I went.

I used to do long hunting in AK, ID and the Sierras a foot or a horseback. I`d check the topo occassionaly. But it did not matter for a month. I was where I was. I had to go back to the PU and horse trailor at some point. But in the mean time why should I care where I am. I am going no place special. When I found a good spot with a hot spring I would set up camp and kill something to eat.

Yeah, if i wanted to be surrounded by cattle, scorpians, tumbleweed, indians, and Santa Anna (my perception of texas hasn't changed since the old westerns back in the 50's)

No thank you, i'll take VA any day of the week. I was up in DC one Christmas and i loved walking outside in 12 degree weather. I know texas can get cold, but nothing like VA.

cattle: what's wrong with that? add a ball-peen hammer and a winch, and you got a bbq (which is good for drinking beer)
scorpions, tumbleweeds: ok, so avoid the El Paso area
indians: are you confusing us with OK? (them's fightin' words)
Santa Anna: yeah, we whooped him, and some of his army was sober (how would Carolina Alliance stand up?)

You do realize a lot of those low budget westerns were filmed in Southern California, right? Maybe they're the ones you got a problem with.

I experienced 7 degree weather one winter in Lubbock (and from there you can still drive north a couple of hours and remain in Texas).
