Every time it rains, for some reason the carpet on the front passenger side gets completely soaked in water. The first time this happened I thought I left a bottle of water in the back seat and it accidentally came open and spilled everywhere, so I wetvac'd it and it seemed to be doing fine. However, as weeks went by and it rained a few more times I began to notice that the floor was always wet. At first I thought maybe water was coming in underneath the glovebox (In my old car I had this happen once while in one of those drive-through car washes, NOT fun). I put a little plastic container underneath the glovebox to see if it would catch any water but it rained today and the container was bone dry but the floor was completely soaked to the point where I could move my hand across it and literally push water around.

Does anyone have any idea why the hell this is happening? I'm going to take it to the dealership ASAP and see if they can figure out what the hell is going on because I'm not an automotive expert but I don't think water is supposed to be under the carpet.

edit: issue resolved, see this post

I would think either a drain in the cowl is plugged causing the water to back up and in thru the air intake or the windsheild is leaking. Something like this

If you dont see any debris in the cowl causing the issue put a hose in there to test the drains and watch for the water to be dumped from drains. You can akso look up from pass floor to see if any moisture is evident on the heater box.

so after exhausting my vast array of technical experience (read: youtube, google) I took it into the dealership since it was under warranty

turns out the ac drain hose had become unsecured so they just reattached it and vacuumed up all the water.

posting this here in case someone in the future also has this problem and can see if this is the cause.
