If I drive 90 minutes for a deal on a tacoma, does that mean i have to go back to that dealer to get any warranty work done?

Should be able to go to any dealer if it's a normal Toyota Warranty...

No. Any dealer should do the work, but if you did not purchase from them they may not be very happy about it.

Depends on where the OP lives.

Out here in SoCal, nobody cares. There are 5 dealerships within 10 miles of my home.
And warranty work doesn't cost the dealer anything. Corporate pays for the work.

yeah that's what i figured and has been my experience with other vehicles.

but one dealer this week gave me the load of crap that I should buy local so i wouldn't have to drive to greensboro to get my oil changed.

i'm not buying from that guy

The free oil changes aren't warranty, they are through the dealership, and depending on how the contract is written, you may have to go to the selling dealer to get them.

Personally, I would refuse to buy the "free" oil changes. They aren't free, they are written into the cost of the truck. 36,000 miles = 6 oil changes.
Tell them to take $300 off of the price of the truck.

If your talking about ToyotaCare, any Toyota dealer will do those.

I am in Raleigh, none of the local dealers had the truck I wanted, but the dealership in Winston-Salem did. I never visited the dealership or met the salesperson...they drove it the 90 miles to my house. I took it for a 15 minute test drive, gave the paint & body a once over & signed the papers. The driver even stopped & filled it up with gas before he arrived.

    Easiest auto purchase ever.

The factory Toyota Warranty is required to be honored at All Toyota Dealers. They are not allowed to refuse you for warranty work regardless of where you purchased the vehicle.
