back when I was irresponsible, and thought beer went well with 4wheeling, I drove one ugly-smashed truck.

I have never drank behind the taco wheel, and my taco has zero wheeling induced dents. not visible anyways. the skid-plate, exhaust crossover, and lower control arms have been beaten on a bit. I will have sliders before I do anything more intense than I am.

my first white knuckle (to me) wheeling trip I did in this truck I could have walked the trail faster. always out checking clearances at any part I couldn't see out the window or through my mirrors. as long as you keep your mind on careful, go at your own pace, and learn the truck well before doing crazy stuff, you'll be fine.

brush stripes and little gravel chips are a given

Depend on how hard you go. 100% avoidable if you stay on wide easy trails.

Driving off road weather it's on sand, rock, mud, woods you will get damage. There's no stopping sand an mud getting into bearing and seals where you don't want it. But the same goes for body damage if you don't have sliders you can run over a branch and have it slap your truck. You can have all the armor made but it won't stop everything

If you are careful, skillful, and patient, you will just be that much more pissed when it does happen.

    Lots...
    This is one important thing!

I used to be the guy that kept all my cars like new... When I started offroading I noticed that I was going to have a problem with myself, thats why now I'm relaxed whenever something happens to my Tacoma...

If you stay on easy tracks like freeways, there won't be any damage!:D

YUP! and it bites you in the ass 3 years down the road working on the truck when sand or dried mud falls into your face.

    Rocks I don't mind

I don't even notice tree limbs anymore with the amount of pinstripes I have. You get used to it. It's so much more fun to not have to worry about every little scratch

This is why I am going to armor my truck up to wheel and honestly just buy a used jeep or a new quad to wheel with since they are cheaper than a new taco

Get a tube exoskeleton built... or better yet, rub bacon grease all over the armor and you'll just slip through everything, they're called "sliders" right? You'll be golden!

Damage is inevitable on any vehicle that's not a garage queen.

I voted the first, but my feelings are honestly between the top two.
Dad never had any damage that left us stranded, and never any damage that prevented operation on the highway. I think the worst he ever had was a bent bumper and rear lower fender from backing into a rock making a 22-point-turn.

Other than that, just a few flats from sharp rocks (fuggin' glass-belted Armstrongs, his Norseman's were better).

shit is gonna happen. even the best armored rigs fuck stuff up. Just roll with it and enjoy it as something unique you get to do with your truck if you wheel. how many other people can plow their truck into a rock or tree and laugh then keep on climbing that rock ledge. not your neighbor with the honda down the street thats for sure.

What does wheelbase have to do with this pic? It appears that you were too wide. Wheelbase is the distance between front and rear wheels. Not driver and passenger wheels.
