where is the best place for a cb radio

I am wanting to put a cb in and have seen some pictures of guys that put them in the center console. Every decent cb I have looked at is about 7 to 9 inches deep. I have found compact cb's but nothing under 6 inches. Looking for ideas and possibly pictures of installs.

A lot of people, including myself, run the cobra 75WX ST. Its a compact unit that doesn't have a box, its all built into the mic and the box is a tiny hideaway unit. See pic: (the box with green screen and cheap mic on the right is not part of the CB, only thing that's cb is the large mic on the left)
