I have a 2012 taco that I've had less than a year. This week my AC light will flash when I first start my truck. If I turn it off and back on it works fine(the ac button)? I have 35,000 miles on my truck already and assuming I have only a 1000 miles left on my warranty, but my problem is I work so much it hard for me to get to dealer, ( 50 miles away one way). So my first question when you buy a new truck with the warranty is it 36,000/two year, is it what happens first or am I about out on my warranty? I bought it new last Aug. or do I need to take a day off work for my ac?

    Thanks,
    David

I cannot answer your question, but I suggest that you consider an extended warranty. I got the platinum with 100,000 miles and 7 years no deductible. It cost me around 1250 dollars.

Take it in. This issue can be low coolant, or a bad compressor.

Easier said than done! I am maintenance at a pharmaceutical factory and we are on shut down next few weeks, with weekends and long hours. But my other question when is my warranty up? In a 1000 miles or another year? Cause I've heard both ways?

    Thanks!

I would suggest figure our a way to get it in our purchase the extended warranty before you hit 36k miles.

If your ac light is blinking it may be the ac relay, a $ 70 part. That what it was on my camry. I had a extended warranty and never used it, wasted money.

I'm going to try best to get it there this week. Yea I hate going to dealer so I'm good with out the extended warranty. I just recorded it flashing for the stupid dealer if they say they can't make it do it.

Mine stopped doin it and I'm past my warranty now so I hope it never comes back. Mine flashed probably a out 5-7 different times in a week period, but hasn't done it sense. I went to dealer and I hate that place so I left after a few kind words. Sorry no help here.

Yeah mine only does it every so often. But it takes a while now for it to start working even when turning the a/c all the way off and down. Seems like the only way I can get it to keep the a/c on after the truck sitting for a few days is turn the a/c off then turn it on high.

if you purchase a warranty, search on here for who to buy it from. I forget the dealership, but they evidently have really good prices.

It's not an exact problem in particular. But it is flashing to let you know there is a problem with the AC system. Get it to a shop and have checked out is best answer, b4 you throw money and parts at it and not fix it.

When going through deeper water my A/C light will flash and go hot after awhile, turn if off a few mins for things to dry out and everything's back to normal.

    ^^^^ This is my case.

My AC light flashes after the truck runs through a deeper puddle. I switch the AC off, then back on and it goes away after about 10 seconds.

Hmm. Been wondering what it was.

It only happens after continuos semi-deep water or after something door level or higher. I usually turn the A/C off before deeper water to try to prevent it. It's not doing damage I hope?

This is the case with mine too. In order to get to work I have to drive down a road with a foot plus of water.
