Thanks for the help everyone---Dealer called me back today and went to order the parts from the TSB, and the motor is on backorder. Looks like they finally figured out that something is wrong! Thanks again,Dan.

Just received my new blower motor yesterday. No squeaking, just a constant whine on low! My daughter could actually hear it from the back seat! I turned the truck off and switched back and forth between the lowest and second setting and it sounds like a siren....Unbelievable! I'm sure when I take it to the dealer they'll say it's normal.

Did anyone else here have their blower motor replaced and hear this...?

The person that checks you in at the dealer actually tried to make me think I was the crazy person hearing things that weren't there. "Sounds normal to me" he said. "But we'll have the mechanic look at it". Turns out they had to replace it, imagine that....That's what I told them to begin with.

All I have to say is that I am extremely annoyed with this POS fan. I have read the multitudes of threads on here, have taken the sucker apart, applied the lubrication as suggested and it just keeps coming back. I live where the temps are -30*C on a regular basis and the cold temps are making the lubing/flow situation even worse. The other compounding factor is that I can't just afford to pull the fan out and mess with it now that I depend on cabin circulation for window defrosting each day. If I break my fan some casual day, I may as well park my truck or pull an Ace Ventura.

If somebody in this thread can find a way to modify these lousy fans to make them stop chirping/squeaking/ticking, I am willing to pay $200 for a fan that I do not have to F with any more.

Is there anybody out there who has the time/resources/energy to work on something permanent for the rest of us? I believe that the successful individual would have some money to be made.

Yes I feel an owner performed proper fix with of all the crazy ideas BEARINGS!!!!! is the way to go here.
At least untill toyota corrects the fault, not just replace with another one.
Subed for a non toyota fix..

Go to it man, 2010 with 6000 miles mine just started.
I do not wish to argue with advisors if they hear it or not and after doing a tsb replace with another one that will fail ( squeeeeek ) 3 months later.
With a bonus of removed floormats and the gas pedal circumcision!

We will overcome with skill and desire!!

my "new" fan replaced with the TSB lasted a whopping three weeks, the squeek is back. I drive a minimum 100 miles a day, every day. There are not swear words that describe my level of frustration.

There is a special grease at my work that we use for -40C applications. I'll see if I can find the name and give it a try.

    All,

I've said this in numerous posts on this exact topic, the OEM fan Toyota uses is not made by Toyota or any of their subsidiary suppliers (Denso). The fan used in our trucks is manufactured by Delphi a parts manufacturer owned by GM. If you want a suitable cheap option, go wih the TYC manufactured fan sold on Amazon for $40. I installed mine a month ago and it's been good and we've had some frigid tempratures around this part of Va. The OEM fans are designed with a dry lube bearing and when the temps drop to freezing and below, the bearing squeals/chirps like no other. In the aftermarket fan option, the design is different. Taking apart and lubing the OEM Delphi fan is only a temporary solution and will come back due to it's inherent crappy design flaw. There is also a fan sold at Autozone for $100 made by Continental backed with a lifetime warranty. I'm not going to bother reposting the link to either part as I've done so in a bizzillion other threads on this topic. If you're interested in a fix for this issue; search "noisy AC fan" and you'll see the links.

Going get my replacement fan motor this week. Service manager told me that it will take 1 hour. That sounds suspicious cause I could replace that thing in about 20 minutes. We'll see.

Thanks for the tip, I ordered the TYC fan today. I will be thoroughly inspecting the sucker before it is installed.

Let me know how it works out. I took my original one apart several times. It was quiet for a little while, now it's back worse than ever. I think I let it go for too long before trying to fix it, and now it's beyond the fixable point.
